Dream House Paragraph with Imagery

My dream house would be something like a cabin. I see couches, a TV, the walls, glass tables, chairs, my husband on the computer, and the whole living room is just white. The items in the house feels calm and relaxing, it feels like the oceans breeze. It feels like love, happiness, and peace. Walking through the kitchen I smell Spaghetti, macaroni and cheese, and crispy garlic bread. I hear the soft slow RnB music coming from upstairs and the typing from the keyboard, I hear my baby boy crying. I will save money, work and work and including my husbands support by working to help get our nice beautiful house.

I have a couple pictures of a house that is on sale and that I always wanted. This is my dream house. I got to show it off. :) This is actually a steel aluminum glass house.

Third Quarter Goals Reflection

My goal for the quarter is to get a good grade in almost all my classes, I hope to get a C and above and also to get a higher GPA then before. What I have done is studying for everything test that has been coming up and also paying more attention in class. Even when it gets boring and I feel like putting my head down because I get so frustrated. I also need to make sure I get all my homework and classwork done on time. I expect to feel accomplish and very happy once the quarter ends. I want people to be proud of me and I want to prove them wrong for not believing in me that I can bring my grades up.

Poetry Experience Paragraph

Studying poetry makes me very querulous because I am not great at writing poems. I know that poetry does not have to rhyme but it always tells a story and it always have such a strong meaning to it. I studies poetry in the past in elementary, like the nursery rhymes and in high school I have written poetry. Such as Acrostic, poetry Concrete poetry, Limericks, and Haiku. I like to read poetry for fun but I do not like writing poetry. I hope to major writing poems during this unit and have fun with it. I wish I could write good poems like other people. When I do, I can never rhyme.

Symbolism and Allegory Unit Reflection

For the past few weeks we have studied allegory and symbolism. For symbolism we read a story call “Through the Tunnel”. It had many meanings and more of a deeper understanding of what the symbols are. For allegory we read a story call “Animal Farm”. It had many forms of an extended metaphor. My favorite symbolism assignment was a symbol for my house and it had a lot of meaning to it. My favorite allegory assignment was the graphic organizer. I kind of get the feeling of a more understanding when doing a graphic organizer. Studying allegory and symbolism has changed my thinking by what actually mean something without saying it, it can just be a symbol that represents something more than it looks.

“Animal Farm” Character’s Symbolic Meaning Paragraph

In the story “Animal Farm” by George Orwell, the character snowball represents admirable. For example, Snowball is very friendly and is always positive with everything. This shows that he’s a very optimistic. Even though, he kind of gave up at the end I still like him and he’s a good animal to me. This is something Snowball had sad, “Yes! We can read, we can write, we can paint signs, we can do anything! We can take care of everything all by ourselves". This shows how positive and confident he is even when things are going wrong.  People who are positive, optimistic, and admirable can get through hard times but people who are pessimistic have a hard time living their life. You just got to be positive.

Animal Farm to the Real World

In the story Animal Farm by George Orwell, for example when he lied about fighting and helping in the revolution, while he was really he was hiding away with Squealer has allegorical meaning. In the real world people lie too and hide away because they're scared. This story represent as more for children but there's a big meaning behind that an adult would catch in the real world.

“Animal Farm” Revolution at SPA

If we had a revolution on campus it would be crazy. A couple weeks planning of what to do, on a Friday night we started the revolution. That night the kids went in every house and  stole all the keys that SPA has. Taking every staff’s radios we made it ours and lock away all staff in the auditorium, they nailed all the windows down and the doors so they can’t break out. Every kid on campus has a key to a car and they also grabbed the staffs money, jewelry and including their car keys. We drove off and took all the money that's locked up in the cabinet. After a couple weeks the police found us and the staffs that were locked up away in the auditorium. We got sent to different placements. Everyone felt bad and apologized and some people went to Juvenile hall for a couple of months and some kids could not come back to campus. Everyone had to write letters to the county and every single staff. Some of the kids who actually get to come back had to be on restriction for a couple of weeks.

San Pasqual Academy Dragons Symbolism

The mascot of San Pasqual Academy is dragons, not any dragon, it’s a blue dragon. The dragons were known as powerful, protective, and fearsome, and they were valued for their warlike qualities. They were also known as protectors. They were also sometimes seen as evil. It also signify the faith, strength, selfless courage, overwhelmingly powerful, and evil dragon but they also accomplish with everything they do. When Coach Manning was still here as an Athletic Director and also a P.E. teacher, he had told me a story about our mascot. So I will like to share it with you guys. When San Pasqual Academy first opened, Coach Manning got to pick the  school mascot and color. He had chosen a Dragon, he also asked many people what color should our school have to represent, People said, green, or purple. He hated those colors for our school, so he decided on blue; because his favorite color is blue. To be one of the SPA Dragons, is truly an honor. Especially when it has so much meaning to it and it makes our school look good. I would not want to be a SPA Frogs, ETC.  :)

“Through the Tunnel” Foster Youth Initiation

Even though they don't have to swim through a tunnel like Jerry in "Through the Tunnel" by Doris Lessing, softer youth are initiated into/out of the foster care system. The foster youth participate in as they enter and exit the system. When you get in you usually go a place that is just temporary, at least two months. Later you usually move to different placements and then you are usually there for a longer while and lastly you have a placement you stay for years and months. As a result of this initiation you have to move to different places before you are settled down and stay there.

“Through the Tunnel” Analysis Paragraph

In the story “Through the Tunnel” by Doris Lessing, I found Jerry convincing that he wanted to achieve his goal. For him to have his nose bleeding and feeling like he was going to die he still went again to find the way out through the tunnel. Also, after hitting his head and almost fainting he still didn't care. He knew if he were to wait another year to go through the tunnel, he wouldn't be the first to go through. He tried to make his lung strong to be able to breathe for about three minutes. When he made it through the tunnel he was surprised that he was able to hold his breath.

“Through the Tunnel” Prove Yourself Paragraph

My sister Sammie has helped me with my homework, because I had no idea what to write about. This is definitely true from the heart of my family and sister. This had occurred while being in the system as a foster teen and it still continues today. My sister said that I prove myself to my family that I can do this by myself in the system without them. Although it is difficult and challenging being away from family, I am determine to be better, to achieve greatness and not to worry my family and giving my family faith that anyone (like me) can do anything as long as I have faith and pull though. From all the support and love, I have no reason to complain. I can say that I have prove everyone wrong who had no faith in me and including myself. To get to this, I stayed positive. As my sister says, “There are so many life struggles. Many that will be easy to overcome, but there are those few that isn't so easy. Changing you and shaping you to find your limit. To find where you truly belong in this world. If you ask me, being optimistic makes it a lot easier. When you find yourself in a rut, allow all the possibilities of getting out. Don’t limit yourself, don’t hold yourself from a good thing. Negative doesn’t get you anywhere”. I kept my head up and I look forward to where the good leads me. Well, there is no ending yet. I am still proving myself and everybody else everyday. This experience so far has never felt better, I want to keep going because I know I am strong.

House Symbol

This family tree symbolizes our house which is Girls 102. To most people, this picture is just a family tree. To us, it represents so much more because we stay together no matter what and we keep on growing and growing. Our house is just like a tree, we grow, love, care, and we are a family. Although, we fought and get on each others nerves it still does not change a thing. Full of happiness, love, peace, harmony, trust, dream, hope and ETC.

Third Quarter Goals

My greatest accomplishment of 2010 is understanding more of what I was learning and feeling like I was on top of everything, to where I felt I could teach someone something I learned in this school year . The reason why I achieved that, is because I asked for help and payed attention to what I was learning and I also helped people who did not understand the assignment. My goal for this quarter is to get a good grade in almost all my classes, I hope to get a C and above. The things I will do to achieve this is: Study everyday until that test comes, pay attention in class at all times, and finish my classwork and homework on time. I can not wait to learn new things this quarter!

Winter Break Experience

During my vacation break I spend a lot of time with myself and Becky, mostly myself. Christmas was coming up and I did not have the money to buy presents for my friends but my family. I got my family stuff they really needed and I am happy about that. I am going to be writing about Rebekah and I at the mall together.
She and I are at the mall walking around, it was super crowded. As for Becky, she also just bought her family presents. Feeling like we should at least get something for each other. We both had agreed on getting a card for each other. Walking into Hallmark, we then separated. After finally finding a card, we walked around some more and ran into people we haven’t seen in a long while. It was cool to see people you haven’t seen in two to three years. Feeling hungry, Becky and I went to McDonald's. After sitting there for a while we felt super exhausted and decided if we are still going to shop we should take the elevator.
Waiting at the elevator we waited and waited. Finally, it opened. There we see a stroller and a family, when they turned out the elevator we saw the new born baby. It was so cute! We both got distracted, looking away now we look up at the elevator and it just closed on us. Becky and I made a long sigh...... I look at Becky and she grabbed my hand and pull me towards the escalator. I was so lazy, we felt really silly that we waited and waited there and did not get to go on because we got distracted by a cute baby coming out the elevator. That was a funny moment. :)

"Lamb to the Slaughter"

In the book “Lamb to The Slaughter”, Mary giggled at the end because the investigators said that the evidence should be right under their noses. Which is was because they were eating the lamb that Mary use to kill her husband. Mary faked it like she didn’t know what happened and that she just came back from the store and saw him laying there dead. So the evidence, they were eating it.
