"Ex- Basketball Player " Paragraph

Athletics in school are important to me because it keeps you in shape and also if you want to go pro in a sport in the future as a career, it will be easier because you are experienced. It prepares for young people in life a lot. It mostly depends who you’re and what you want to do. For example, especially for boys they would want to be a Basketball player, Football player, and or Baseball player. Playing sports in high school will prepare you and automatically you’re good enough to play pro. Additionally, people get injuries over injuries and its hard to stick what you want to do, there are risk. It is important to me, as a female. If I did not have my dream jobs I could even go pro in Softball and Volleyball, it just depends. I could play in college and everything. It has many good things about athletics as a young person in life, especially in the future.

Persuading You to Read a Blog

My dear classmates, class of 2013. Not a lot of people read freshman blogs. Why? Maybe because we find that reading our classmates blog- because we are sophomores, that our blog is more amusing than the freshman. Who knows? Commenting on the freshman blogs will help them a lot with their future. They will start learning how to use complete sentences and also be more engage into the world of writing on web. Comment more on freshman blogs. Our criticism towards what we comment on their blog about what they have posted, will make them have more of a clearer mind of what to fix next time. Sooner or later the more we do that; they will start to see the mistakes in their writing and to also encourage them to keep writing and doing their assignments also. It is going to be very effective to the freshman to see that we have taken our time to read and comment on their blog post. So please, comment on the freshman blogs and encourage them to keep doing better. They really appreciate it even if it does not show.

Sophomore Paragraph

To me, being a sophomore is a little lame. You're in the middle of High school and you are the one who does not get that much attention at all. Freshmen, juniors, and seniors get the most attention. To me, it also means we are one step closer to being juniors and I cannot wait for that time. I am tired of being a sophomore.

SPA Poem

You would think we would have love between us all
But how could there be when there are no trust?
It’s not realize that opportunities was knocking at our door
they won’t get a job but just do chores
even before it was the one, mostly ignored

We have exits and entrances
take the chances
do not just take glances

Her life passed her by
and you know she didn’t even try?
Time will creep up on you
and don’t you boo,
because you did not make it through

Free Choice Blog Post

I've been going to Softball conditioning since the first day it had started, and I only had missed one. I am super super excited for this upcoming Softball tryout. I cannot wait for the season to start. I been practicing a lot lately and last year I remember, I could not hit any balls at all. But this year, is going to change. I can now hit out very far into the outfield! Lately on weekends I go to the Softball field by myself and look at every detail of everything around me. The trees near the Softball field has something mysterious to it, it makes me stare for what it seems to be hours. Chucking the ball into the fence when I am angry helps me a lot. I get very irritated when someone comes onto the Softball field when I want to be alone. Softball became my true love, it was like love at first play. I am going to prove people this year that I can hit more home runs than just one from last year. I love the sound of when the ball hits my bat. It just goes *PING*! and there goes a smile on my face. :)

"Grape Sherbet" Blog post 2011

In the poem “Grape Sherbet”, they tell a story about a time they remembered. Reminiscing on a love one in the past who has deceased. They are celebrating a time where they were making grape sherbet and the girls father was cooking. Her father is the one who had past away. I can relate to this poem a lot because there was a time where my family and I were celebrating and a song came on that he used to sing all the time and also his favorite food was being served. The phrases that help me imagine this poem is when it says “After the grill dad appears with his masterpiece. We cheer.” This shows the celebration and happiness of the day. Imagery helps the reader to imagine the event and it helps the reader relate.

Everybody knows my most memorable Valentine, of course who doesn't? Anyways, you already heard this story many times in one year and I am not going to mention it again. Who wouldn't brag about this? PROPS PROPS dear love.  I wrote this post on 2/17 of 2010. So, I just copy and paste. Until then my Valentine story is going to be the same for another year

Let me tell you..V-day was something I never thought would be one of the days where I can say it`s the day of my life. So blessed and grateful to have such a wonderful partner and who I can call a friend. His name is Joseph Jamal Bakhit. I honeslty can`t describe him, There are so many things he does that brightens my day. No matter if I just see him or just seeing him smile makes my days better.

His plans are pretty impresive and pretty crazy. On February 13, 2010 I went on a date, I consider it the first date and pretty sure the best I will ever have. I want to thank him for an amazing day. Anyways, we went to Seaport Village. I honeslty had teary eyed, I didn`t want him to see that but he should know he made me the happiest person. We hunged out all day and yeah it was something I can`t describe..but speechless is all I can say.

I started writing this since Monday but I don`t know if I wanted to post this anymore..but he should know how I feel.

"I am Offering This Poem" - Emotion

The emotion that “I am Offering This Poem” by Jimmy Santiago Baca expresses is warm, love, and a lot of caring. For example, the author kept saying “I love you”, to ensure the reader. This shows that he cares, and people out there who does not hear that often will understand that all you need is love. In addition, this makes me feel bubbly inside and makes me feel more better about myself. This also shows the author cares for the person who is reading it. That’s why the emotion of this poem is just love. All you need is love. <3

"Remember" Homework paragraph

Line 19 through 22 has more meaning to what the author is trying to say. Those two statements are very logical in my opinion, it is true. What we do in life effects how life is, and also everything around us. For example, what if we did not go to school and no one worked...what would happen? Although, we are not literally the "universe", they mean everyone in the world. We would not have anything if it wasn't the universe and "us" in it. "Our culture, from language to dancing, comes from us". I do agree with the two statements being logical.I agree with what the author is trying to say, we have a future and we got to keep it going because we are important to the world around us, because we are the world's universe.

"Remember" Become a Poem Paragraph

Entering the poets world, I think she wrote this story/poem and published it because she wants people to really understand that life is not as bad as people think it is. Joy Harjo could have wrote this because some people may not appreciate life as much as life already gives them, and hopefully it changes their mind about life around them. For example, if I was the poet I would have published it to because I would want people to know everything around them and anything, is still also a part of them; no matter what it is. If I were to write a poem and published it to the world, I would have write about people who suffers with their life and make life seems so bad and wrong when it’s really not. You just have to make the best of it. This poem makes me feel more appreciative that I already am, it makes me understand more whats out there in life. Though sometimes things go wrong, you cannot always blame everything around you.

"Heart! We will forget him!" Paragraph

In the poem “Heart! We will forget him!”, the speaker speaks directly to her heart as if it was a person, the reason why she talked to her heart separately is because she might have felt as if talking to a non-living object will help her get over the guy and the heartbreak she was going through. She talked to her heart and mind, telling herself and her heart to forget him. Well, they probably had problems and could not work things out and it hurt her and him to forget each other and separated, but no matter how much she tried....she still could not forget about him; she still love him. Personification is giving human traits. Such as qualities, feelings, actions, and such things as characteristics to especially non-living objects. Such as things like colors, things, qualities, or ideas. The author uses personification toward her heart to cope because it helps her start believing and thinking she can control her heart by talking to it. One way I can relate to this poem is that I've been through the same thing. I also talked to my heart, but after all my heart does not want to listen. Maybe it should not listen to me.

My Experience with Teaching the Class

My experience today, teaching the class felt amazing. I felt cool, and I also felt smarter. There was one thing that I missed. Like, forgetting to put the page number to the poem. Luckily, my awesome partner remembered the page number by heart. Other than that everything went well and flowed easily. Chelsea and I walked around and help our classmates, or I can say “our students”. The classwork assignment went smooth, the partners seem to understand the discussion questions easily and I also really enjoyed helping and teaching for a day. If I can do it again, I totally would! I like this lesson plan, to teach our classmates. Fun!

Imagery in a Song

The name of the song that I chose to represent my life is call “Photographs & memories” by Jason Reeves. An image that has a meaningful picture to me is “the picture”. This song is sad but it also gives me a great feeling inside. Another image that has meaning to me is the memories, there are memories that goes with pictures and memories are just the best because they’re the only thing that does not change when the people does. When I hear this song I feel happy but I also sometimes cry a lot. Theres also different kinds of memories too, I used to have this song on repeat in the car with my sister Sammie.

“Photographs & memories” by Jason Reeves.
I keep your picture by my bed
For when I'm feeling sad, I don't know why I would be
The way your smile looks so real
I feel like I could start to understand your grace

But I, I don't understand why you're not here with me
And I, I don't even wanna know where else you'd be

'Cause I have photographs and memories of the times
You weren't on my mind and I was alone
I have poetry and drawings of my life
You weren't on my side and I didn't know
Just what is love

Writing moments on the wall with different colors
Keeps my mind away from missing you
And I can't wait to fall asleep to slip into my dreams
Where we can dance upon a star

And I be as patient as a boy in love could ever be
And I don't feel like I was real until you were a part of me

'Cause I have photographs and memories of the times
You weren't on my mind and I, I was alone
And I have poetry and drawings of my life
You weren't on my side and I didn't know
Just what is

I need you back, I need you back, I need you here
I need your smile, I need your eyes, I need you, dear
Every line on your face makes a beautiful maze
For my eyes to trace
Every line on your face makes a beautiful maze
For my eyes to trace

I have photographs and memories of the times
You weren't on my mind and I was alone

“A Storm in the Mountains” One with Nature

When I was younger, my father and I always went to the beach after he has just argued with my mother. I held his hand and he had me step on his feet while he taught me how to dance, holding me. I can see the water rocking back and forth and white seagulls. I can hear and feel the strong wind blowing through the ocean and the sand; giving me chills. I touch my dad’s hand and I felt the wind blew right through me. While still dancing with him he told me, “One day, I won’t be here. You have to promise me to be strong, stand up for yourself even if you get scared. Do good in school and respect your elders. When you feel the wind, and when you hear it...it is me calling out for you. You don’t have to worry, im always here”. I always feel like I belong with the wind. When it blows I want to cry, but I also smile. I love the wind.

Paragraph to Persuade You to Read My Poem

The name of the poem I am teaching is call “Same Song” by Pat Mora. Someone should read my poem because it is about confidence inside and out. Having beauty and not having beauty. Someone who needs inspiration with something. Someone who can feel pretty and others feel ugly. This poem is about “looking good”. Looking good where you cake on your makeup or when you just woke up from bed. Someone may not want to read this poem because they may feel angry or insecure of how they look. They should read this poem anyways because of somethings they should hear about the little girl does to change how she feels and look. The best part of the poem to me, is when the little girl cakes on her makeup, dresses up and curls her hair then only realizing at the end it looked horrible.

Imagery in a Selected Poem Paragraph

In the poem “Life Goes On” by Tarna the mood that the imagery creates is inspirational, sad, but yet has a lot of hope and it creates a happy mood at the end. An example of imagery in this poem is when she says “The rain will fall the snow will sparkle, the tree's will blow and the birds will sing, children will dance flowers will grow, music will ring and tears will flow, ice will melt and memories felt”. This poem shows all five senses that are concluded in imagery. It shows: Sight because you can see rain and snow sparkle, the tree, birds, children's, flowers, tears, and ice. Sounds, you can hear the rain fall, tree’s blowing, bird’s singing, children's, and music. Smell because you can smell rain, and flowers. Taste, you can taste the rain and snow. Touch, you can feel the rain, snow, trees, birds, flowers, and ice. The feelings that the image created for me was sadness and it slowly turned into faith, courage, and I felt inspired. I suddenly felt happy again. The use of imagery helps to express feelings because it helps us understand their feelings in a better way and we can actually see, hear stuff, etc.
