Fourth Quarter Kickoff Reflection

My experience with the Fourth Quarter Kickoff was cloying. I was on team 2, we played all different type of things that I do not like to categorize under the names of sports. Before playing sports, the Sophomore class had to watch a movie call Stand and Deliver-great movie. We went to lunch after the movie and everyone then disappear into their own groups/ teams. My team played wiffle ball, it was suppose to be Softball. So boring! I was actually trying to prevent from playing. Of course, Ms. Priester kept galvanizing me into playing. We played other things that are too boring to waste my time to write. At the end of the day, I was so drain and the team that won is..........Team 6!. Plus very lame, I had practice after all that.

Fourth Quarter Goals.

My greatest accomplishment of last quarter was getting my F that I had in Priester’s class up to an B. I was very proud of myself, I knew I could do it. Last quarter, was not my best and I also barely tired honestly. For me to achieve my goal to getting a B, I will finish all my missing assignments and I will also make sure to finish my work on time. For this quarter my goal is to stay off two hour and I really want to get rid of any C’s. For me to achieve it: I will study a lot, finish all work, be focus all the time.

What I Learned in the Third Quarter of English 9/10

This third quarter I learned a lot. I learned about symbolism, allegory, poetry, imagery, figurative language, primary source, and also secondary source. My favorite thing to learn was symbolism and figurative language. Those were my favorite to learn because I like representing things using symbols and an assignment with figurative language in it are always fun. Some subjects and assignments were a little confusing and challenging but it was just alright. I like this quarter, I believe I did better this quarter than last quarter which was second quarter. The thing I did not understand that much was allegory. I always dislike doing the graphic organizers, I hate those. I am not so great at doing those, maybe that's why I don’t like it. Other than that, this quarter has been awesome.

CAHSEE Reflection

My reflection on my experience of taking the CAHSEE today was fine. I was scared at first, mostly about the essay section. Believe it or not, I think I did so great on the essay part that I could not stop smiling. All the other part of the test was tolerable. Most of the question was easy but the answers were dumb and obvious but it made you think what answer to pick. Plus, There were like two words that I have never seen or ever heard of. I am a little proud of myself, I am praying to past the CAHSEE; including the math section tomorrow. Becky has helped me look over math problems and a test that Fenick has made to prepare for the math part of the CAHSEE. I feel very positive but I am just afraid I would not even remember how to do the problems by tomorrow. I have to stay indubitable!

“Where Have You Gone, Charming Billy?” Enlist Paragraph

Long time ago I wanted to join the Air Force and the Army. There are a lot of reasons why I wanted to actually be in the Military period. I wanted to be hardcore and strong HA HA. But then I changed my mind because I have been told by my brother in law and cousins that it is not that great and there are many risk. Plus, I do not want to be away from my child for months and years. That is why my brother in law took a long break out of the Army. He wanted to spend time with his wife and watch his son grow, he did not want to miss anything. I support him. Watching him go and come back is very hard and especially on my sister. Plus, I have other dreams I want to accomplish; such as NASCAR, CIA, or SWAT. If I was ever drafted, I would probably go through with it.

Primary and Secondary Sources Comparison

Primary and secondary sources both have in common is that they both expresses itself with the same information but just in a different way, in events and viewpoints. Primary source makes it different from secondary is that primary is firsthand account of an event. Such as if the person was literally there. A few examples of primary sources are speeches, oral histories, eyewitness news report, interviews, literary works, pubic documents, this such as that. Secondary sources is different because it is express in a secondhand account, it is written by a writer who did not participate directly in the events, they are not literally there. A few examples of secondary sources are encyclopedias, biographies, reference books, history books, magazine articles. Primary and secondary sources are helpful because it expresses many viewpoints in different ways such as first-hand person and second-hand person.

Feelings about the CAHSEE

My feelings about taking the CAHSEE is that I feel like I am not 100% ready and I am scared of not passing the test at all. I am afraid of taking again next year if I don’t pass it this time. Writing the essay today as a practice, was a little okay but I still was a little shaky. I felt like I didn’t know what to do, when I was writing I didn’t think it made any sense at all. I am not looking forward to taking the test this year and I don’t know what to do now. I need more help. My classmates says it’s easy but to me it isn’t easy. I get nervous and one little mistake can ruin the whole test score. I feel sick knowing it’s coming up very soon, I did not prepare myself at all.
