Fourth Quarter Kickoff Reflection
My experience with the Fourth Quarter Kickoff was cloying. I was on team 2, we played all different type of things that I do not like to categorize under the names of sports. Before playing sports, the Sophomore class had to watch a movie call Stand and Deliver-great movie. We went to lunch after the movie and everyone then disappear into their own groups/ teams. My team played wiffle ball, it was suppose to be Softball. So boring! I was actually trying to prevent from playing. Of course, Ms. Priester kept galvanizing me into playing. We played other things that are too boring to waste my time to write. At the end of the day, I was so drain and the team that won is..........Team 6!. Plus very lame, I had practice after all that.

What I Learned in the Third Quarter of English 9/10
This third quarter I learned a lot. I learned about symbolism, allegory, poetry, imagery, figurative language, primary source, and also secondary source. My favorite thing to learn was symbolism and figurative language. Those were my favorite to learn because I like representing things using symbols and an assignment with figurative language in it are always fun. Some subjects and assignments were a little confusing and challenging but it was just alright. I like this quarter, I believe I did better this quarter than last quarter which was second quarter. The thing I did not understand that much was allegory. I always dislike doing the graphic organizers, I hate those. I am not so great at doing those, maybe that's why I don’t like it. Other than that, this quarter has been awesome.

“Where Have You Gone, Charming Billy?” Enlist Paragraph
Long time ago I wanted to join the Air Force and the Army. There are a lot of reasons why I wanted to actually be in the Military period. I wanted to be hardcore and strong HA HA. But then I changed my mind because I have been told by my brother in law and cousins that it is not that great and there are many risk. Plus, I do not want to be away from my child for months and years. That is why my brother in law took a long break out of the Army. He wanted to spend time with his wife and watch his son grow, he did not want to miss anything. I support him. Watching him go and come back is very hard and especially on my sister. Plus, I have other dreams I want to accomplish; such as NASCAR, CIA, or SWAT. If I was ever drafted, I would probably go through with it.

My Experience with Teaching the Class
My experience today, teaching the class felt amazing. I felt cool, and I also felt smarter. There was one thing that I missed. Like, forgetting to put the page number to the poem. Luckily, my awesome partner remembered the page number by heart. Other than that everything went well and flowed easily. Chelsea and I walked around and help our classmates, or I can say “our students”. The classwork assignment went smooth, the partners seem to understand the discussion questions easily and I also really enjoyed helping and teaching for a day. If I can do it again, I totally would! I like this lesson plan, to teach our classmates. Fun!

Third Quarter Goals Reflection
My goal for the quarter is to get a good grade in almost all my classes, I hope to get a C and above and also to get a higher GPA then before. What I have done is studying for everything test that has been coming up and also paying more attention in class. Even when it gets boring and I feel like putting my head down because I get so frustrated. I also need to make sure I get all my homework and classwork done on time. I expect to feel accomplish and very happy once the quarter ends. I want people to be proud of me and I want to prove them wrong for not believing in me that I can bring my grades up.

Second Quarter Portfolio Blog Jog
Here is the link to my Blog Jog, enjoy:
What I Learned in the Second Quarter of English 10
What I Learned in the Second Quarter of English 10
What I Learned in the Second Quarter of English 10 Paragraph
In this quarter of my Sophomore year, I have learned a lot. In our second quarter we will learn even more and I am super excited to keep moving forward until I finally hit Junior year. I have had so much fun this quarter although I missed a week of school work. Although that happened I feel like I can still bring up my grades even though I feel like my mind is not here educationally. In Ms. Priester’s class I have learned a lot about computers and I feel super smart in using technology. Plus, writing online and posting things. My favorite; exciting part was being able to record information online. We even get to watch some news on Weekend Rap. As days, weeks, months goes by I feel like I am growing up so much and feel so smart. We have learned a lot about Literature and spending time reading, and most of our work was done on computer instead of writing. It has also made is more fun and interesting. I also am learning more from knowing how to use a computer, such as embedding things and uploading. Learning how to post something on Blogger.com is not only for school but when I have something to say, on my free time I like to write on my blog. My favorite website has to also be Google Docs. It is so much fun and really great to use for a lot of different assignments. I can even chat while doing my assignment, especially when it’s a partner assignment. Ms. Priester had provided many websites that we can use and it helped a lot. Without having this class I don’t think I would have known about using computers but go on Facebook and using my email. I feel like I can even teach adults the things they have never learn how to do. I feel like this have made us all mature and it feels like I am already graduating. But I have years to come and it feels so great, I can even type even faster than last year and the year before that. I like that Ms. Priester has done all this online and I can use this whenever I want.

4.)Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you see? by Bill Martin, Jr.****

4.)Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you see? by Bill Martin, Jr.****
5.)Corduroy by Don Freeman*****
The book call Corduroy by Don Freeman was my favorite book when I was younger. Corduroy is the bears name, he is lonely and sad because no one would buy him. No one would buy him because he has a missing button. While Corduroy searches everywhere for his button, he finds a little girl who wants him but not his button. Corduroy did not find his button but found someone who loves him for who he is, even though he has a missing button. This book captured my interest because you don`t have to fix your personality or looks for someone to love you. They should love you for who you`re, just like Corduroy; you just have to be patient.

“Chilean Miners Rescue."
The Chilean rescue, what is that all about? Well, in Chile there was 33 miners that were trapped in a mine. Many rocks, dirt felled and caved them in; making it even harder to try to get out. They were rescued on October 13, 2010 and back home safely with their family. When I found out about it I felt stunned. Finding out that they are safe now and getting help from the medical center gave me a huge relief. If they were my family members, I would be devastated. If I was in the miners place I don`t think I would be alive, I would lose hope. I would feel so mad at myself because I`m not afraid of dying, but I am afraid the state in leaving my love ones by dying. I am so happy that they are now safe in their homes with their family.

Essay Reflection Paragraph
My opinion on my Autobiographical Narrative essay I wrote was great, but I know I could have done better. I should have add more excitement into it. I also forget to include a flashback in one of my paragraphs. When I was picking a topic to write for my essay, I couldn't`t think of one except the day I spent with my ex-boyfriend. It was very special, I can even brag about also. I remember ho many people told me that I was so lucky. I knew I was, I`m glad I have memories wit him, and I still do but as friends only. That's all that matters, because when the people change; the memories stays the same.

"Two Kinds" Summary Poem
Jing-Lei does not play
Mother giving her piano lessons with Mr.Chong
knowing it was so very wrong
Chong couldn`t even hear,
yet Jing-Lei shed some little tears
She practice and practice but only to feel disappointed
yet she wasn’t the genius
it was Shirley Temple
the beauty she didn`t have, maybe it was some pimples?
Her boy cut hair wasn`t it a little rare?
Mother stealing magazines was it all fair?
nothing changed and she didn’t win the trophy
but felt somewhat droopy
didn’t want any of it
or maybe just a little bit?

“My Input for Staff-Teacher Conferences”

I feel that the grade I`ve earned is horrible. I am usually up on top of Ms. Priester`s class work, warm-up, and homework. I have been doing my homework since this year has started. The strengths I have in this class, is that I always get my work done and I usually understand it. The challenges I face in this class are not paying attention and having so little time. To improve my grade I will ask an adult to proofread my blog post before posting it. My house parents, and also Derrick can help me a lot. Ms. Priester can help me raise my grade by telling me what I have to fix and what to watch out for when I am typing my post. The grade I hope to get at the end of this quarter is a B at least or an A.
