Exciting!

Yesterday was a great day, somewhat great of a day. We had a game against Jewish Academy, and we won. We have a home game today too and we are playing Escondido Adventist. It was so fun, I hung out with Liz all day and we talked a lot and found out some good news, everybody is so excited for Prom and I am too. I can`t wait to get dress, I am going by myself, it seems more fun without someone standing there with you all day and them getting jealous when dancing with someone else. I am wearing a long dress that is pink and black and getting long extentions in my hair and probably having it curled.

"American History" Newspaper

I feel somewhat selfish for what I thought was my more important than this. Hello, my name is Elena. I am fourteen years old and in my freshman year now. It is November 22, 1963. I always envied the black girls at school who jump jump rope so well, and I myself could not. The only thing that kept me happy and was the only source of beauty and light for me was a boy name Eugene. I live in Dallas, Texas by the way and Eugene move in next to my place where I could see him from my kitchen window. I always watch Eugene and his family from the window after school, even when I did dishes too. I like Eugene a lot, he was so cute and when school started back up I look for him in every one of my classes; I could not find him. I decided to "run into him", he was shy but I knew he like me too. I remember Mr. DePalma, our teacher came into the class looking as if he was going to cry while trying to say something but it was too hard for him to speak. All of a sudden students in my classroom giggled, that is when he told us, "The President is dead, you idiots". We go dismissed out of school early because of it, honestly I didn`t think anything of it. Eugene and I had a History test coming up so we decided to study with each other after school. I remember walking in the house and my mother sat in front of the grainy picture of the television set. She was crying so much, I didn`t know what to do, I again wanted to feel something for our President, but could not find it in me. I walked to Eugene`s house to study, I knocked a couple of times when suddenly the door cracks open. I won`t forget what Eugene`s mother said to me, it seem long. This is what she said that day, "listen. Honey Eugene doesn`t want to study with you. He is a smart boy. Doesn`t need help. You understand me. I am truly sorry if he told you could come over. He cannot study with you. It`s nothing personal. You understand we won`t be in this place much longer, no need for him to get close to people-it`ll just make it harder for him later. Run back home now". Standing there shock, I walked away after Eugene`s mother closing the door behind me. I won`t remember this day, November 22, 1963. Our President got assassinated, I wanted to feel something because a lot of American definitely felt something but I didn`t I wanted too.

My Experience with Career Day

My experience today with Career Day was AWESOME! I had lots of fun chilling, walking around, and talking to my friends. I actually took it seriously, I thought I would not (not trying to make myself sound bad, just being honest). I took it seriously to the point where I’m actually looking to which colleges I want to attend now, I learned many things. I went to many stands today. One was the Army, it was so interesting because the Army runs in my family. It was just cool to see that I knew some things that they expected me not to. Second one was looking into going Mesa College , the lady was so sweet to me. The lady was disabled and worked at the college, and she told me, Anybody and anyone can do anything". She also told me about many great things there that made me want to check it out, also having Clifton encouraging me to work harder each day made me feel a little more confident. Last one is our San Pasqual Academy Firefighters! We were all cracking up jokes with Mr. Frazier and the other Firemen’s. I couldn’t stop laughing! By the way when I was younger, I wanted to be a firefighter.

I really like this; they should do it for the next years.

Earthquake 7.2

Yesterday Jessica and I were sitting on the couch in the house, waiting for Debbie to finish with the roast so we could bring it down to the girls rec.I remember sitting there and all of a sudden the chair started to rock and the windows were shaking. My house parent yelled at us to go outside away from the buildings. It was pretty surprising because I never felt it like that before, I also haven't felt in long long time. It occurred in Mexicali next to Calexico, the magnitude was up to 7.2. It had many after shots, I believe there were about like three, I remember last night around 3 I woke up because another after shot occurred again but I wasnt`t scared at all, I was too tired.

Lesson 1- Cyber Predators Question

QUESTION:
If your friend confides in you that he or she is thinking about meeting in person with anyone he or she first “met” online, what would you tell him or her?

If a friend of mine confides in me that he or she was thinking about meeting someone in person which she met online, the thing I would tell them is that it’s very dangerous and I would hate to see them hurt. I would probably start the conversation by telling him or her one of the truest and scariest stories on about how young people these days get raped, kidnapped, and killed. I would tell him or her into many scary things that can happen to them if they kept it going. I would threaten them that I would tell their parents in that second and would not care if they start to hate me.
