“First Persuasive Paragraph.” -Prompt E
I agree on having a certain GPA to be able to play sports. If you have a low grade I don’t think it’s appropriate for a student to be on the team playing. Either they stay home, get a tutor and make your grades come up. If being on the team playing a sport, it takes time away from the students study time to bring grades up. The students would not have time to make up grades and also finishing homework because they’re always out and about.
I myself have a GPA that I cannot play a sport and be on a team. I am not mad about it, I feel like it’s a way better idea because I get to stay home studying and getting work done while bringing my grades up also. It gives me a better chance to get better grades before the season is over. Plus, I don’t have to worry about anything but myself and not procrastinate.
When people just play sports they forget to get things done and procrastinate on getting their work done thinking they can get it done later. Also, they won’t have time to study because they’re so tired from playing.

"The Bass, the River, and Sheila Mant" and "Catch the Moon" Theme Comparison Essay
In the story “The Bass, the River, and Sheila Mant” the main characters are the boy and Sheila. The main conflict is that the boy likes Sheila and she hates fishing and he had to choose between her or the bass he had caught. He had thrown away the fish because he didn’t want Sheila to see it. Later, the boy regretted it. The resolution was that Sheila left him anyway afterward when he was trying so hard to impress her. The main character changes by feeling regret, and dumb for letting go the biggest fish he had caught over a girl who didn’t like him and didn’t like him for who he is and judge him that fishing is stupid. You shouldn’t have to hide who you really are even if someone else doesn’t like it because they should except you for who you’re.
In the story “Catch the Moon” the main characters are Luis and Naomi. The main conflict is that Luis has not grieve and let go of his mother’s death over 3 years and he changes because of that. He barely gets out and have fun or talk to girls. When people bring up something about his mother he gets sad. The main character Luis changes by the grief of forgetting and letting his mother go and moving on and becoming to change back to how he really is before his mother died. He couldn’t even talk to Naomi and likes her so much but things change. Love and losing someone changes the person can be effective to the way you see things.
Luis and the boy in “The bass, the River, and Sheila Mant”, has changed because a girl, a mother and a girl he likes and they start to realized things at the end. They both change and both loses somebody they are close to. You have to grieve to let go and accept something. It is the only way to move on, when you do you will feel great. You also have to accept things and make the right decisions.

"Catch the Moon" Grief Paragraph

The change Luis experiences after he address the grief he feel for his mother’s death is truly believable. For example, Luis has changed throughout his mother’s death from where he was happy and now he is deleterious. In real life people grieve from a death, especially when someone close to you has passed away. When my dad passed away, I changed a lot. I acted like I hated life and that I hated my mom. I ditched school many times and because my dad had died from heavy smoking and drinking, I started to do the same. I was 9 years old at the time, and I feel like I finally changed to my real self when I turned 13 years old. I put a lot of pain into my mother’s life. By dealing with grief, people are able to accept and understand why things in life is the way it is. They will become stronger at the end of the process, a better person will come out of it.

"Homeroom Reform Essay."
San Pasqual Academy needs funding in order for its students to be successful. San Pasqual Academy is a first-in-the-nation residential education campus designed specifically for foster teens. It is located in Escondido, CA and provides foster teens with a stable, caring home, a quality, individualized education, and the skills needed for independent living. San Pasqual Academy needs funding for many different reasons, but one way that funding could be directly used is by providing agendas for our students.
Our idea is to have quality agendas for San Pasqual Academy students. It can help in ways like getting homework done on time, and being organized, not just organized in school but will help the students here at San Pasqual Academy be organized in other areas as well. This will work by helping the school and will also help us to be responsible people. San Pasqual Academy needs funding because we cannot provide a single copy for every student and new students who enroll for the next school year, or for extra copies. Agendas are a necessary tool but they can be used for other things, people today use planners which are agendas. San Pasqual Academy students need an agenda.
It will help me with my educational goals, by being well organized and responsible. This prize will help to provide tools for me to be successful as I pursue my education. It will also help me because we can use the money for school supplies. The money we need will help San Pasqual Academy’s students to have a better future. Plus, we need more school supplies to provide for our students.
Some contributions have been provided by other donations and funding. Such as, The Jammer Family Foundation (Quentin Jammer’s Organization), Friends Of San Pasqual Academy and many more. One of our teachers has created a sheet of paper that works like an agenda in place of actual ones in order for students to keep track of their work. By making sure we get it signed every night and getting it checked off by one of our teachers.Teachers have been putting ideas in such as making paper agendas for students here. If we had real agendas it would be much better and so much more efficient.
It can provide technology and equipment that will help us be more interested in what we are learning, and students would be willing to work on the assignments that are being handed out. It will help the students at San Pasqual Academy by motivating them with technology since it is something more interesting to work with. It can also help because if we have more technology, more students would be interested in coming to San Pasqual Academy and also our student body would grow. The more we educate our students the better our students will be at educating themselves in the future by the school discipline.
San Pasqual Academy needs funding for these specific reasons. It will help us, the students, so much in our future as foster teens. How it will help students here at San Pasqual Academy, the prize, how we worked on the project, and how it will be provided.Getting the prize will make our school a better and educated place for the students here at San Pasqual Academy.
I wrote this essay with Janie S. We wrote it for the KNSD Homeroom Reform Essay Contest.
