“’The Bass, the River, and Shelia Mant’ compared to “I’m Gonna Miss Her.”
In the story, “The bass, the river, and Shelia Mant” compared to Brad Paisley’s song call “I’m Gonna Miss Her”, are very alike. The lyrics concluded what the boy had gone through in the story also but they’re also different. Brad Paisley wrote a song about a girl he is in love with but she does not like him leaving her for fishing, just like Shelia Mant; she thinks fishing is stupid. Brad rather go fishing than be with his girlfriend, so she left him. Same with Shelia Mant and the boy, she also left him later after he had thrown away the biggest fish, but Shelia showed no interest. These two are also different because Brad chose fishing first even though he lost the girl too. In the story, “The bass, the river, and Shelia Mant”, the boy chose Shelia over the fish, instead he lost the girl and also the fish. Those are the comparison between these two.
