Imagery in a Selected Poem Paragraph
In the poem “Life Goes On” by Tarna the mood that the imagery creates is inspirational, sad, but yet has a lot of hope and it creates a happy mood at the end. An example of imagery in this poem is when she says “The rain will fall the snow will sparkle, the tree's will blow and the birds will sing, children will dance flowers will grow, music will ring and tears will flow, ice will melt and memories felt”. This poem shows all five senses that are concluded in imagery. It shows: Sight because you can see rain and snow sparkle, the tree, birds, children's, flowers, tears, and ice. Sounds, you can hear the rain fall, tree’s blowing, bird’s singing, children's, and music. Smell because you can smell rain, and flowers. Taste, you can taste the rain and snow. Touch, you can feel the rain, snow, trees, birds, flowers, and ice. The feelings that the image created for me was sadness and it slowly turned into faith, courage, and I felt inspired. I suddenly felt happy again. The use of imagery helps to express feelings because it helps us understand their feelings in a better way and we can actually see, hear stuff, etc.
