My Experience with Teaching the Class

My experience today, teaching the class felt amazing. I felt cool, and I also felt smarter. There was one thing that I missed. Like, forgetting to put the page number to the poem. Luckily, my awesome partner remembered the page number by heart. Other than that everything went well and flowed easily. Chelsea and I walked around and help our classmates, or I can say “our students”. The classwork assignment went smooth, the partners seem to understand the discussion questions easily and I also really enjoyed helping and teaching for a day. If I can do it again, I totally would! I like this lesson plan, to teach our classmates. Fun!

Imagery in a Song

The name of the song that I chose to represent my life is call “Photographs & memories” by Jason Reeves. An image that has a meaningful picture to me is “the picture”. This song is sad but it also gives me a great feeling inside. Another image that has meaning to me is the memories, there are memories that goes with pictures and memories are just the best because they’re the only thing that does not change when the people does. When I hear this song I feel happy but I also sometimes cry a lot. Theres also different kinds of memories too, I used to have this song on repeat in the car with my sister Sammie.

“Photographs & memories” by Jason Reeves.
I keep your picture by my bed
For when I'm feeling sad, I don't know why I would be
The way your smile looks so real
I feel like I could start to understand your grace

But I, I don't understand why you're not here with me
And I, I don't even wanna know where else you'd be

'Cause I have photographs and memories of the times
You weren't on my mind and I was alone
I have poetry and drawings of my life
You weren't on my side and I didn't know
Just what is love

Writing moments on the wall with different colors
Keeps my mind away from missing you
And I can't wait to fall asleep to slip into my dreams
Where we can dance upon a star

And I be as patient as a boy in love could ever be
And I don't feel like I was real until you were a part of me

'Cause I have photographs and memories of the times
You weren't on my mind and I, I was alone
And I have poetry and drawings of my life
You weren't on my side and I didn't know
Just what is

I need you back, I need you back, I need you here
I need your smile, I need your eyes, I need you, dear
Every line on your face makes a beautiful maze
For my eyes to trace
Every line on your face makes a beautiful maze
For my eyes to trace

I have photographs and memories of the times
You weren't on my mind and I was alone

“A Storm in the Mountains” One with Nature

When I was younger, my father and I always went to the beach after he has just argued with my mother. I held his hand and he had me step on his feet while he taught me how to dance, holding me. I can see the water rocking back and forth and white seagulls. I can hear and feel the strong wind blowing through the ocean and the sand; giving me chills. I touch my dad’s hand and I felt the wind blew right through me. While still dancing with him he told me, “One day, I won’t be here. You have to promise me to be strong, stand up for yourself even if you get scared. Do good in school and respect your elders. When you feel the wind, and when you hear it...it is me calling out for you. You don’t have to worry, im always here”. I always feel like I belong with the wind. When it blows I want to cry, but I also smile. I love the wind.

Paragraph to Persuade You to Read My Poem

The name of the poem I am teaching is call “Same Song” by Pat Mora. Someone should read my poem because it is about confidence inside and out. Having beauty and not having beauty. Someone who needs inspiration with something. Someone who can feel pretty and others feel ugly. This poem is about “looking good”. Looking good where you cake on your makeup or when you just woke up from bed. Someone may not want to read this poem because they may feel angry or insecure of how they look. They should read this poem anyways because of somethings they should hear about the little girl does to change how she feels and look. The best part of the poem to me, is when the little girl cakes on her makeup, dresses up and curls her hair then only realizing at the end it looked horrible.

Imagery in a Selected Poem Paragraph

In the poem “Life Goes On” by Tarna the mood that the imagery creates is inspirational, sad, but yet has a lot of hope and it creates a happy mood at the end. An example of imagery in this poem is when she says “The rain will fall the snow will sparkle, the tree's will blow and the birds will sing, children will dance flowers will grow, music will ring and tears will flow, ice will melt and memories felt”. This poem shows all five senses that are concluded in imagery. It shows: Sight because you can see rain and snow sparkle, the tree, birds, children's, flowers, tears, and ice. Sounds, you can hear the rain fall, tree’s blowing, bird’s singing, children's, and music. Smell because you can smell rain, and flowers. Taste, you can taste the rain and snow. Touch, you can feel the rain, snow, trees, birds, flowers, and ice. The feelings that the image created for me was sadness and it slowly turned into faith, courage, and I felt inspired. I suddenly felt happy again. The use of imagery helps to express feelings because it helps us understand their feelings in a better way and we can actually see, hear stuff, etc.
